THANK YOU

We, Honda Foundation, have assumed the role of Japan Host for Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) for the last three years. With the termination of the term at the end of 2011, we have stepped down as Japan Host and passed the role to the IMPACT Foundation Japan.
It has been a great honor for us to have taken part in this great activity since the starting point of GEW. We would like to extend our special gratitude to Dr. Kiyoshi Kurokawa and Dr. Atsushi Sunami of National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) as well as many academics from various fields for the useful advice and guidance from a wide view. We would also like to thank all the participants who supported and took part in the GEW events. Thank you.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a combination and expansion of two successful initiatives-the debut of Entrepreneurship Week USA in 2007 and the inspiration behind it, Enterprise Week in the UK which was kicked off in 2004 by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

For one week, millions of young people around the world will join a growing movement of entrepreneurial people to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing things. Dozens of countries are coming together for the first time to host Global Entrepreneurship Week, a global initiative to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. To think big. To turn their ideas into reality. To make their mark.

Honda Foundation who proposes the theme of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” received a formal request by the Kauffman Foundation in USA to join the “Global Entrepreneurship Week” and became the Japan Host since 2009.

Seeing as from next year, 2012, the IMPACT Foundation Japan will take the role of Japan Host for GEW, the IMPACT Foundation Japan will be a co-host and the organizer of this year's GEW Japan.
